初期はchaos UK,Disorderに通じるノイジー・ハードコア・パンクを聴かせていたScrapsですが、中期のユーロ・スピード・ハードコアスタイルを経てConflictとUniform choiceを掛け合わせたようなSxEハードコアスタイルへと進化。 Vo,DavidがNations on fireに一時参加していたことからの影響もあるでしょうが、この変化はこのバンドに関しては大正解。Voの個性も初期よりぐっと活かしています。 Nations on fire,Admit you're shitのファンにお薦め。

pukenvomit reissue! アメリカン・ハードコアの発掘もある程度まで進み、市場価格$20～30程度のレコードにもぼちぼち陽の目があたるようになりました。というと、ショボッと思われる方が殆どだと思いますが、ハードコアがある程度のポピュラリティを得て、ジャンルとして確立された結果、それなりの流通網に乗って大量プレスされたから市場価格が低いだけの話です。内容がつまらないからってわけではありません。 こちらのノース・キャロライナのクロスオーヴァー/スケートロック寄りハードコアSubcultureの86年作アルバムは、そんな80年代中期の隠れた名盤のうちの一つだと思います。 Death Recordsからデビューを果たしたため、イメージ的にはかなりメタルな先入観を持ってしまうが、あくまでエッセンスとしてのメタル要素であり、基本はハードコア。 初期C.O.Cはもちろん、Life sentence、Target Of Demandあたりのファンならまず気に入ると思います。

KTO UKRADŁ CIASTKA had reformed for that one gig and it was clear that their influence was strong in the DIY scene…it was also completely fucking wild. A vinyl reissue of the first cassette release on Refuse Records, Rozdział 1992–1993 captures the band live in 1993 and a rehearsal from ’92. The audience recordings are pretty rough, but the record settles in after the first few tracks, and the power really comes out when they hit their stride around “Butapren.” The rehearsal, however, is amazing—seven doses of pure fire from a band bridging the gap from classic ska/reggae-infused ’80s Polish punk to the then-modern world of European DIY hardcore, with a sharp triple-vocal attack and constant urge to speed up and fall (or fly) off the rails. Political, straightedge, pro-animal rights, KTO UKRADŁ CIASTKA was blazing their own trail in early 1990s Poland, and this document was clearly put together by someone who followed in their wake. Just a couple of hundred copies, with a gorgeous printed booklet full of photo and flyers and a previously unavailable recording of the anti-fascist anthem “RAAF.” I highly recommend reading the label’s write-up on the history of the band and the release—perhaps it’s a copout to send a reader to the label, but in this case there’s an extensive and personal history with the band, and few people can put their importance in context better. An incredible release. KTO UKRADŁ CIASTKA started in 1991 in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki (near Warsaw). The band existed until 1994 and played a dozen or so shows, gaining recognition around the local punk and hardcore scene. At that time, they distinguished themselves with their dynamic, fast hardcore punk. Their sound was influenced by both the eagerly listened to bands of the international hardcore scene of the time along with the Polish HC Punk of the 80s. They were also one of the first bands around who promoted a drug-free lifestyle and vegetarianism. Other urgent topics such as anti-fascism were also enthusiastically presented. The breakup of the band did not end their history. Instead at the same time this marked the start of the history of Refuse Records. The band's only release, the cassette "Rozdział XI", was released by Refuse with the number 001. A few years later the band ZŁODZIEJE ROWERÓW released a cover song of K.U.C. on their album in 1999. In 2003, K.U.C. reformed for one single performance during the 10th anniversary of Refuse Records, giving a great show to a full house at Warsaw's Remont. Some members of KTO UKRADŁ CIASTKA continued to play in bands, the names of which might be recognizable: AGNI HOTRA, R.U.T.A., B.S.B., NO! BRUNO !, the reformed CYMEON X, or now in TASIEMKA. The material on this record includes recordings from the ’92 rehearsal and live recordings from two shows from 1993. Most of the material is identical to what was released on the original cassette, with the difference being the live recordings from Zambrów come mostly from another source of this performance than those originally published. Additionally, the album features the song "RAAF" (Radical Anti Fascist Action - was the name for many direct and militant activties against the wave of neofascists in Poland at the time) from their last show in December 1993, played after significant personnel changes. This album is very archival in nature and was created for those who were part of this story. The quality of the recordings is far from perfect - be aware of it when selecting this album. 16 page booklet is included. One-time pressing of 201 copies. This release is dedicated to members of the band Siasiek and Bromba. Rest in Power.

Apatia - Demo 1991 LP＋Greencore fanzine

わけのわからない現行ハードコアを粗製乱造しているRefuseですが、思い出したころに良質な再発盤をリリースするので困ったものです。 こちらはHCPを母体に89年結成された、ポーランドを代表するハードコア・バンドの未発表デモの初ヴァイナル化。さらにメンバーが発行していたGreencoreファンジン総集編という豪華付録付。 In 1991, APATIA is already a well-recognized band in Poland, regularly playing shows and often appearing in fanzines. Ready to take the next step, they work hard new and phenomenal material that is already presented at their shows. Before the band enters the studio for the first time, new songs appear on the "Live" cassette (also known as "Literature and art in the fight against fascism") and record a demo of 11 songs, which will then be used as promo material only and send to potential publishers - Pietia from QQRYQ and Uszaty from NNNW. This never published and unknown demo of the band is now being released on vinyl exactly 30 years after its recordings. Documents the band just before recording the first album for Nikt Nic Nie Wie. APATIA of the beginning of the 90s it was an absolutely new quality in the local hardcore scene with its own characteristic style and great lyrics. For the next 20 years, we were able to enjoy the work of these guys who created one of the strongest pillars in the history of Hardcore Punk in Poland. Demo 1991 LP comes out with the anthology of the fanzine "Greencore", published in Poznan by members of Apatia - Bulwa and Matol, in the years 1989-1990 (all in Polish!). During this period, four issues were published, which - as the name suggests, combined the subject of HC (interviews, reviews, reports) with ecology and also strongly promoted vegetarianism and took up current socio-political and anti-Nazi topics. The zine published columns and comics. "Greencore" has published interviews with the bands ORANGE WORLD, S.K.T.C., KANADA, STRAWBERRY, A.P.S.F., BLOCKADE, AGENT 86, INDIREKT, AHIMSA, DER PANIK TREIBRIEGEL and ASSASSINS OF GOD. わけのわからない現行ハードコアを粗製乱造しているRefuseですが、思い出したころに良質な再発盤をリリースするので困ったものです。 83年結成、ポーランド最初期のハードコア・バンドID。米国からの交換留学生がいたことから、当時東欧では入手の難しかったDCやNYHCのテープを手に入れ、最も早い時期からアメリカン・ハードコアの影響を打ち出していたバンド。 手探りでアメリカン・スタイルのハードコアを模索しながらも、どこか滲んでくるヨーロッパらしい哀愁と珍味のメロディ感覚が素晴らしい。 オリジナルは93年にリリースされたカセット。 Established in 1983, ID is considered the first band from the Polish hardcore/punk scene to be inspired by the sound and energy of hardcore from the USA. Thanks to student exchanges in Krakow, tapes from the NYC and DC hardcore pioneers inspired members of the band. Over the years, they developed their own characteristic sound. Although throughout the 80s and 90s they were the one of the frontrunners of the independent hardcore/punk scene in Poland, they left behind only a vinyl EP and several cassettes. In 1991, the band entered the legendary Złota Skała (Gold Rock) studio and, under the supervision of Robert Brylewski, recorded excellent material for a full-length. They recorded 17 tracks which sounded fresh, dynamic, and with the specific sound of that studio were reminiscent a bit of the "Legenda” of Armia or the first material from Post Regiment recorded a bit later. Both bands were strongly associated with the band from Krakow. The enormous potential and talent of the team finally brought results and things were looking very optimistic for the future. Unfortunately, the band got involved with a record company, which actually inhibited their development, releasing their material only on cassette, and two years too late, in 1993. Twenty-five years have passed since this release, and it has been 35 years since the band formed. We decided it was time to finally release a vinyl record with new mastering.
